Handbags...really?

"I like it on the chair."

Written as my status on Facebook, you would have no hint that I was speaking of the place my handbag rests.  Instead, you would be thinking...well, we both know what you would be thinking.  You and the hundreds of clueless women, and more importantly the thousands of clueless men scanning their home pages of Facebook.

So what are *especially* the men left to think when an ambiguous Facebook status strongly hints a sexualized agenda.

"Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother."   Romans 14:13

Thousands of women, many of whom are proclaimed Christians have changed their status' to something that seems very sexual, thinking not of the effect on their very visual male counterparts.  It's okay for the hundreds of clueless women...we're just left going "ewww...".  

But for a poor man who's left to think sexual thoughts about a woman on Facebook, simply because she's caught up in the "fun"; she's become a stumbling block.  Now he's curious.  Perhaps very intrigued.  Possibly fantasizing.

All because of a lame idea to promote breast cancer awareness.  (Last I knew, handbags had nothing to do with a woman's breasts...)

Think about that guy who you "friended" on Facebook, who, in all reality makes you feel uncomfortable in a crowd...what's he thinking when he reads such a status?

What might your son be thinking when he reads "where you like it?"

People are watching.  Men are watching. (And reading).  

Are you going to give a respectable and pure impression of yourself?  

And hey Facebook, the next time you want to support breast cancer...make it obvious.
